yesterday afternoon. this is video of our helicopters partnership with abc seven news. the standoff is happening in the area of 87 avenue in birch st.. residents in the neighborhood have been told to stay in until this is over. we have crews on the scene and will bring you more updates as they become available. stay tuned for that. >> the search continues for a missing family of four. the coast guard says a husband, wife said a series of distress calls on sunday saying they're syllabled was sinking. the coast guard is now searching 65 mi. off the coast of monterey. kron fours charles clifford has the latest on the coast guard efforts to try and identify who made the distress call for the family abandoned ship. >> throughout the day on monday the u.s. coast guard continued efforts to locate a missing family who may be floating in the ocean after their sail boat sank on sunday afternoon. the coast

guard released in audio recording of the last of radio transmission from the vessel. >> coastguard, coastguard we are abandoning ship. >> the coast guard released the audio recording hoping someone would be able to identify the voice on the tape. so far they do not know this family is. they do not know where there are from or how long they have been its seed or whether we're headed. >> it appears the sailboat does not have a gps locator. it did not have proper safety equipment. the coast guard said it will continue to search for the family. >> we will relaunch aircrafts and do more aerial searches. >> that are also checking marinas from southern california to canada trying to figure out who this family is. they say when they run the name of the boat through the registry that cannot find a record of the vessel. >> anyone having information on this missing family or boat is axed contact the coast guard. >> charles clifford kron 4

news. >> also in monterrey, to scuba divers who died of diving off the coast of monterey county have been identified as a husband and wife from san jose. an official with the state parks and recreation department says 41 year-old volodymyr butsky and his wife, 41 year-old marina bu tsky died while diving at point lobos state natural reserve friday afternoon. >> authorities say emergency crews were called in after the couple's daughter of a parking for the her parents were overdue. >> we will be back with more on the kron 4 morning news.
